I'm not afraid of working with clients who are working on coping with suicidal thoughts, or self-harm. I have a good record of helping clients with substance use problems as well. Of course, you don't have to have to have these problems to see me.

I use a variety of Cognitive Behavioral techniques to help clients change their habits of thinking and feeling. I encourage all of my clients to do therapeutic homework in the form of reading and writing assignments.

My service in the Vermont House is over and I'm available full time. Now is a good time to call.

Bert Munger offers a free consultation over the phone or in person

Easy Access

Bert Munger also hosts the following groups:

Feeling Safe/Being Safe
Office of Robert L. Munger, MA, 1 Kennedy Drive, South Burlington, Vermont
Every Monday at 10am - 11:30am
$30 - $50 per session

Many people exposed to trauma find that they can't "just get over it" and get back to their lives. Drugs and alcohol seem to help them cope with the negative emotions. For others, coping involves other dangerous behaviors. Most of us like to feel safe and the substances or behaviors do provide a feeling of safety. The problem is that the temporary feeling of safety comes at the cost being less safe in the long run. Participants in this group will learn skills that will help them feel safe and be safe.
