My ability to make an immediate connection with people is an important aspect of the experience I provide. Most people turn to therapy during a time of stress or transition. Feelings of fear, impending chaos, disorientation often are a major feature of these times. Feeling that one is in capable, knowledgeable, and experienced hands is very grounding and stabilizing. Couples facing the adjustment to being new parents, balancing work and home responsibilities, couples contemplating separation, dealing with the discovery of an affair, and more are situations I have dealt with competently and compassionately in 38 years of practice.

In addition to couples, my experience has afforded me the opportunity to develop competence with individuals with PTSD, childhood abuse issues, phobias and other anxiety related disorders. EMDR is often an essential part of my therapeutic approach.
