I have worked with mental health translators in 13 different languages, to include: Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Laotian, Hmong, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Cambodian (Khmer), Samoan, Filipino (Tagalog), French, and Spanish. The majority of my experience has been in the Long Beach, CA Cambodian community with victims of the Khmer Rouge.

Group processing, resources, films, guest speakers, and support for those who are transitioning or who have transitioned. Insurance accepted; if no insurance, sliding fee scale can be applied; refreshments will be provided. Group is open-ended, so you may join at any time. Must have a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 8. If maximum capacity is reached, there will be a waiting list.

MtF & FtM Adolescent Group Therapy & Support

Open to ages 14-20. In this group, we will discuss transgender issues, coming out to friends & family, transitioning at school or at work, emotional & social issues related to transition, work on improving self-esteem/self-worth, and other topics. Modalities will include use of creative arts therapy, CBT, and family systems therapy. Snacks & beverages will be provided. Group is limited to a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 8. Group is open-ended, so you may join at any time. MUST BE ENROLLED IN INDIVIDUAL THERAPY CONCURRENTLY (either with Carol or another mental health provider).
