With over 20 years as a learning specialist and 8 years as a practicing clinician and supervisor of graduate student interns in social work and counseling, I strive to educate clients, to collaborate with them, and to help them facilitate changes to meet their needs and goals. I believe in working with clients to gain insight into behavior patterns that are not working for them. My style is practical, down to earth, yet warm, compassionate and hopeful. I draw from a wide range of theories and strategies while always building on the client's strengths.

A special interest is grief and loss, such as the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a relocation, a job, an illness or disability, a pet, or a child leaving home for college. I enjoy working with older adolescents, individuals, couples, and adult families.

Other special interests include depression and anxiety, relationships, and parenting.
