Dr. Darleen J Gracia

Psychologist , PsyD

Initiating the steps towards change can be hard. We may not be ready to change even when our loved ones think we should and repeatedly tell us so. To truly engage in effective therapy, the decision to come must be made through your own will. You have to be ready to openly explore yourself and the aspects of yourself that are causing you and others in your life distress. I am happy to join you on this journey as a source of support, offering you guidance and gentle challenges along the way to help move you towards the goals you want to reach.
My therapeutic focus is on building the relationship with the client and seeing them as a whole person. I see the person as both, an individual and a person that is part of a larger familial, societal, and systemic context.
I also explore how race, ethnicity, culture, sexuality, class, and religion intersect in the person's life and how this influences their perspective and behavior in the world. I particularly enjoy working with young adults who are experiencing difficulty with life transitions and their self-identity.
