I am a Clinical Psychologist, and have worked in the mental health field for over 18 years. I am the Training Director of the Mt. Sinai Services Psychology Internship program, and serve as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, where I teach and supervise psychotherapy. Over the years, I have practiced a variety of therapy approaches, and have distilled down the methods that I have seen to be most effective. Problems that I have helped clients to move through include anxiety disorders, excessive guilt and depression, relationship conflicts, problems with self-esteem, and emotional "storminess."
I strive to provide empathy and clear understanding. I bring focus to help clients more clearly see their patterns of thinking and feeling, to develop increased self-acceptance, and to develop the strength and clarity to change patterns of guilt, worry, self-doubt, conflict, and feelings of disconnection from others.
In addition to professional training and experience, I have been involved in meditation training for over 20 years, through which I have developed a direct understanding of cognitive and emotional awareness techniques. This experiential knowledge has helped me to better assist clients in developing their capacities for awareness and change.
