Dr. David W Griffiths

Psychologist , EdD

(617) 702-2465
I approach therapy with a client-centered, interpersonal stance to create a safe, non-judgmental, collaborative working relationship. My approach is holistic, taking into consideration all aspects of my client's life. I work with adults, from college age and up and use a variety of modalities and skills, tailoring treatment to what works with each client. I use both short-term, goal oriented approaches and longer-term, insight-oriented treatment as required. The ultimate objective is to assist clients in making changes they choose for improving their lives.
Many of my clients present with the following concerns or circumstances: anxiety disorders, depression, relationship difficulties, addictions, work problems, stress. In addition to individual therapy, I work with couples and run a number of long-term therapy groups for gay men.

older gay men's therapy group

As a gay man, you may feel awkward in social settings, wondering if you'll fit in and feel comfortable. Group therapy can empower you to engage more openly and authentically by creating a safe place where you can gradually open up to the other men. You will build a stronger sense of yourself as you take risks to let the others know what your thoughts, feelings and needs are. The kind of issues addressed are: loneliness, coming out and gay life, families, sex, dating, partying and drugs, addictions, feeling depressed, anxious, and relationship problems.
