An ART THERAPIST is a graduate-school trained, experienced therapist. The delightful extra in the equation is a provision for you to express yourself BEYOND words! If you consider what your thoughts are like before you commit them to words then you can see that putting some of that on paper, or shaping it in clay could 'up the ante', so to speak, and really stretch where the therapy can go!
My work is based on the principles of transformation through art-making, your art images and discussions around them using a theoretical framework and personal insight, with the goal to guide you to your inner strength and power. I am committed to my clients embracing their own path and finding the confidence to follow it.
The creative process itself is healing. The emphasis is on self exploration and transformation, not on art technique.I specialize in empathic, insightful listening, and workshopping themes that come up in your creative work that spark insight and change toward positive possibilities in your life.
