“I always start with where a client is and move through a process of self awareness and discovery that brings about lasting change and newfound joy. While that is not an easy process it is a journey I have found worth taking in my own life and feel honored to take in another's. I do not believe in a "cookie cutter" approach to recovery or self actualization. Each person I work with brings a special "psychological fingerprint" that encompasses both their past and their present life experiences. Ideally a client who comes to see me wants to know how they got where they are and how to live life differently. Doing that is a parallel experience of uncovering the roots of his/her choices while expanding those choices in the present. When a client comes to see me they are committed to doing the work of therapy and want to have help sorting it through. Sometimes the time spent in therapy involves learning new communication skills, unraveling a past that is colliding with the present, or working through the deeper meaning of life issues. My goal is to respect the cost of time and money required to do the work

I've worked with a wide range of issues and have an extensive background in treating those with trauma backgrounds, sexual/relational issues, and addictive struggles. I am a certified sex therapist with AASECT and a Level II Trained EMDR therapist.

I am in a private practice with my husband David J Jecmen, Ph.D., and Erica DeNorscia, MA, LASAC. In addition to each of our own clients we offer Outpatient Intensive Therapy, retreats, and groups. We work with people from all over the country in our practice.”
