Dr. Ed Jessee

Psychologist , PhD

(865) 584-0171
I enjoy working with a variety of clients, including children, adolescents, adults and couples. Approximately 20% of my practice is children and adolescents, about 50% adults, and about 30% couples. I work with the family when I am working with children and adolescents. I work closely with several psychiatrists in the practice here but I believe in using as little medication as possible. I encourage clients to do everything they can to help themselves naturally, including eating healthy, exercising, and enhanced self-care. I believe in a biopsychosocial approach--considering the whole context that can influence an individual's life.
Clinical areas that I have worked extensively with include: depression, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorder, personality disorders, men's issues, couples therapy, and family conflict.
I have extensive training in couples and family therapy. Past work experiences in addition to private practice include running a family therapy institute, an adolescent partial hospitalization program, and teaching at a university level.
