Mr. Edward R. Langlois

I specialize in marriage/couples counseling as well as mental health services to older adults. I am an approved facilitator for the research-based Prepare/Enrich program for couples preparing for commitment, as well as those who want to enrich their relationship. I have over twenty years experience as a clinical social worker, including work with seniors and their families in outpatient psychotherapy and geriatric in-patient and partial hospital discharge planning. I provide initial screening for dementia, as well as evidence-based treatment of depression, anxiety, marital/relationship struggles, grief, and family issues relating to the stress of care-giving.

Prepare/Enrich outlines a couple's strengths and growth areas based on serveral categores essential to an effective relationship. The couple works with the facilitator focusing on skill-building to increase satisfaction. It is a helpful tool for couples contemplating marriage or moving in together, as well as those already committed.

Having worked in a variety of settings, I have the unique experience of helping seniors and their families manage healthcare and social service resources. Individuals and families are unique, and my treatment plans reflect their specific needs and goals, developing strategies in the present to achieve a more positive future.
