Dr. Florence Rosiello

Most of my work is with people who have difficulty in relationships, either feeling too emotionally isolated in their relationships or too merged. My strength lies in helping people find a place where they can be in intimate relationships and not emotionally lose themselves or emotionally overwhelm their loved ones. While most of my practice is made up of individuals, I also see couples, both straight and gay couples, who are working to stay together or who need to separate in a meaningful way. Children/adolescents often factor into couple treatments and that focus exists in my work, as well.

My preferred method of practicing depends on whom I'm working with. Many people can only attend therapy once a week while others want more frequent help. The therapeutic approach I use is the Relational Approach which is focused on relationships and on creating healthy dynamics between individuals.

My practice is made up of creative professionals: artists, musicians, composers, writers, lawyers and doctors. I also work with couples, both heterosexual and gay. My book on 'intimacy' discusses much of my work and the individuals who I work with. Many of my clients are in recovery from substance abuses.
