“Clients come to a therapist in crisis. Sometimes they are ready to go further than simply assuaging the pain and anxiety of the moment. There is a curiosity involving the recognition of their own participation in the pattern that brings hurt and pain. It takes courage to look at oneself from a value neutral position, but that is when the work begins,

My bias is psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Sounds daunting but simply put, it is my belief that we are products of our past experiences and until we can understand the genesis of our feelings and behaviors, we are destined to repeat the oftentimes self destructive patterns.

Although my training was Freudian for the most part, I differ in that I believe there are two people in the room and relationship with the client is vital in the healing process. I am always astounded with the individual resiliance of the human spirit and stand in awe of my clients.”
