“I am Rev. Frances C. Brown. I have been a Pastoral Therapist on the Grand Strand in SC for almost 28 years. The South Strand Pastoral Counseling Service is 14 years old. I as a Pastoral Therapist have both a graduate degree from Southern Baptist Seminary (Louisville, KY) and a MSSW from University of Louisville. A Pastoral Therapist is an ordained Minister who also has additional training in clinical Pastoral education. My 5 units of CPE was completed in a hospital setting. I hold membership in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC) and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Why Pastoral Counseling? It is a distinct field of theraputic work. It uses the best theological knowledge available, as well as the most up to date psychological resources to help a client experience a sense of healing and wholeness in their life, in their family, and in their community.

Pastoral counseling combines both theological and psychological factors within a theraputic setting.”
