Dr. Garth Gillan

Counselor , PhD , DMin , DMin , MS , LPC

(814) 234-2279
My practice is devoted to treating the full range of emotional and psychological problems that an individual may be experiencing from a psychoanalytic perspective. My goal is to enable clients to experience themselves in a creative way having shed the burden of maladaptive ways of relating to self and others and free of defensive emotional patterns. The way to do so, I am convinced, is to explore the past, present and future to clues to what enslaves, what is currently painful and what freedom as a gift of self promises.
My training involves therapy with adults, children and adolescents. In order to accomodate children I practice until the early evening with hours from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, MTWThrs.
Before taking up psychotherapy I taught philosophy for thirty years. In addition I am a certified pastoral counselor(AAPC).
