My ideal client is a person who wants to know himself/herself at a deeper level and who wants to live life more fully. It also helps to enter therapy, in the words of Brennan Manning, as "ragamuffins...dirty, bedraggled, beat-up, and burnt-out." I approach therapy not as an expert, but as a fellow traveler, struggling to be more of a human being, and less of a human doing. The therapeutic relationship is a qualitatively unique relationship where total honesty, openness, and caring create opportunity for growth.

First, I provide a lot of individual counseling that is best characterized as spiritual friendship. Second, I offer EMDR, which is a phenomenal modality used to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, and for peak performance. Finally, I meet with lots of couples for premarital and marital therapy.
