My clients include individuals, couples and families suffering from relational trauma. My clients tend to be bright, capable people who sense that something different is possible for them, and so they seek support in coping with difficult emotions and in navigating life's stresses. They may struggle with emptiness, anxiety or depression, or they may have resorted to drugs, alcohol, blame, isolation, dependent relationships, lying, manipulation, rage, status, avoidance, work, exercise, beauty, or busyness to find a sense of power or solace.

I approach my clients' difficulties from a trauma perspective, looking at underlying beliefs that cause or exacerbate issues, and at how stressors or beliefs manifest. From that perspective, we work to build a sense of 'I can' with respect to issues, to tolerate difficult feelings, and to find helpful solutions.

The training that I bring includes 3 years training in Somatic Experiencing, direct training at The Meadows with Pia Mellody and Claudia Black in experiential and family systems work, and training in EMDR - all of which shape my approach and interventions.

Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult
