Issues with learning, behaving or feeling often have their roots in different ways of experiencing and processing the world. In over 25 years of working with children, teens and young adults, I have developed a variety of techniques to understand problems and identify solutions. As a consultant to selected private schools, I provide guidance to teachers and parents. A significant part of my practice involves testing for learning differences and attention issues. I work with children and teens to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and to find strategies that will help them to achieve their goals.
I also work with families of divorce to help with this difficult transition. Children in families of divorce have diverse needs and parents often seek guidance as to how to meet those needs. A custody evaluation can be helpful in matching children's needs with the type of support each parent can capably provide to them.
As the former Director of Psychology at a psychiatric hospital and currently as an adjunct faculty member at Widener University, I have developed techniques to help address issues of depression and anxiety. Of course, close collaboration with parents is also essential to creating family relationships that nurture the process of change.
