“I work with adults and couples in interpersonal and cognitive psychotherapy. I enjoy working with people of all ages, but have a special interest in people over 40 and people who are high achievers having marital problems. My experience since getting my PhD in clinical psychology in 1978 is that people typically seek psychotherapy or counseling when they are having a life crisis. Any good psychotherapist can help the patient/client achieve a sense that the crisis is receding or resolved within 6 to 10 sessions. Many people then choose to stay in therapy somewhat longer to deal with habitual self-injurious life patterns.

No matter how objectively good your therapist is,if there is not a comfortable match between therapist and client you are not going to get everything you can from the therapy. I encourage potential new patients to call and talk to me on the phone to see if they feel comfortable talking with me.

I also do a lot psychological evaluations for students,adults,the court system, and people wanting to be screened for dementia”
