Ms. Hollis Burkhart

“Individuals or couples often come to see me when something is just not working, whether it be their relationship, their job, they feel depressed or are getting more anxious than usual. Sometimes they don't know exactly what's "wrong," only know that they don't "feel right." I think of my work as helping guide individuals back to their authentic self, knowing each person has the innate ability to do this, with some help from a compassionate companion in therapy. My perspective is holistic, acknowledging and valuing each person's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual attributes.

I am passionate about helping people find their authentic self and become more comfortable with who they are through a wide range of therapeutic modalities, always being conscious of the unique qualities of the individual I have the privilege of working with at the moment.

One of my specialties involves working with trauma: women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, military personnel, people who have experienced other traumatic events who experience nightmares, anxiety or relational issues. One's faith or spirituality can also be a powerful area we can explore as a resource and strength.”
