I am a Christian Counselor who believes in a holistic model where mind, body, and spirit are all interconnected. I also offer what some call "prayer counseling" - asking God into the situation. I work for two organizations: Daybreak Family Services and Gentle Shepherd Ministries: Daybreak Family Services works with children,adolescents/teens and adults on Medicaid/Soonercare. Gentle Shepherd Ministries does not take medicaid or insurance and has a self-pay rate of $50 per session (50 minute session). I work with those suffering from depression, anxiety, bereavement and complex grief, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, as well working doing ADHD assessments. I also offer pre-marriage, marriage, and couples counseling.

My basic counseling belief is that many of the problems we are having in our lives and/or marriages stem from unresolved issues from childhood. There is a way using brief psychodynamic therapy to find and bring healing to many of those issues which allows changes to be made.

As adults we may recognize patterns of behavior in our lives but do not seem to be able to change them (i. e. poor relationship choices; rage/anger, etc.) To change these patterns, the roots of the problems need to be discovered and healed.
