“"Grandfather, what is the purpose of life?" After a long thought, the old man looked up and said, "Grandson, children are the purpose of life. We were once children and someone cared for us, and now it is our time to care."(Bentro, 1990) I like children, as a father of five and a grandfather of seven, I have learned to appreciate and be helpful when children and adults face major problems in their lives. I am comfortable with sandplay, group counseling, family therapy, couples counseling, and individual therapy with children, adolescences, and adults.

I have been practicing social work for over 30 years as a child protective service worker and a school social worker. I like to work with children and their parents who are experiencing depression, anxiety and other emotional issues in their lives.

I ponder the argument between permissive and strict parenting. The worst kind of parenting is by one who is indifferent. We all seek help from the magic adults that we see as caring and nurturing. It is my professional goal not to be indifferent, to make a difference in the lives of people.”

Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult
