Rev. James L Hutton, III

Pastoral Counselor

(757) 542-5991
I am therapist with over 30,000 patient hours. I work with a variety of issues and clinical problems, especially personality disorders. I work with dreams and fantasies to reenergize the personality. I have successful treated people with serious trauma: sexual, physical emotional and spiritual abuse. Anxiety and separation issues are also issues I deal with. I also do marital therapy. My work centers upon the imagination, and the exploration of the unconscious. I invite anyone who has need of my services to inquire for an appointment to see if my services are suitable for your situation.
I am a pastoral couselor who has retired after 30 years in the Episcopal Church. I serve people of many faith traditions in a quiet beautiful setting. My work is supervised and aided by a psychoanalyst and a psychiatrist, if medication is needed. I have a deep love of my work.
I am also a psychologist on call to consult with troubled parishes and clergy in my own denomination. This work includes cases of pedophilia, financial misconduct, and sexual misconduct. My clinical orientations are Jung, Freud, and Winnicott. I work with a psychodynamic orientation and in depth psychology. I write and teach.
