For nearly 20 years, I've helped New Yorkers with depression, anxiety, and troubled relationships solve their problems and get more out of life. My style is warm and sympathetic. My patients are successful adults, a diverse and open-minded group. Up-and-coming professionals. Creative types. Established families on the upper East and West Side.They have a safe place here with me in Greenwich Village, which is, after all, a traditional haven of free discussion and exploration.
I offer proven cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) combined with psychodynamic psychotherapy. The first trains you to keep an eye on negative patterns of thinking and control them. The second gets to the roots of such patterns. Both are at least as effective as medication, but more natural and longer-lasting.
