Jean Wolfe Powers

I have worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for over 28 years, and am currently facilitating group and individual sessions for caregivers supporting cancer patients. I have a great depth of experience in working with depressive and mood disorders, grief and loss, anxiety and phobic disorders, PTSD, relationship issues, as well as adoption and diversity issues. I am currently finishing my PsyD at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis.

During my years as a psychotherapist, in addition to running a full private practice, I have helped develop and co-lead an eating disorders unit and numerous childhood abuse recovery groups at the John Bradshaw Center at Ingleside Hospital in Los Angeles, California. I also specialize in chemical dependency.

I have given many seminars on life transitions, balance and well-being, including a lecture series following the events of 9/11. I offer a free 30-minute phone consultation to review the issues at hand and to discuss goals that can be achieved through therapy.
