I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and can treat those clients needing the evidence-based model. DBT has effectiveness in treating people with severe emotion dysregulation. A behavioral therapy founded in a zen philosophy,clients create a lifestyle of skills in mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance
I believe strongly in collaborating closely with treatment providers, while working with all parts of a client's environment to ensure effectiveness and success with the goals of treatment.
I am frequently hired by parents to teach and coach them in behavior modification skills in shaping behaviors and positive reinforcement.

Groups
Adult DBT Skills Training
This is an evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training class. I teach all four modules of DBT skills in the areas of mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. The course follows the DBT curriculum in a classroom structure with two facilitators. Group members help each other with support and understanding of the skills, but do not process emotions or problems together. Group members are required to attend individual therapy to translate skills learned effectively into their daily lives.

DBT Parent and Adolescent Skills Training Class
Parents and adolescents meet together to learn Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills. The group is run with two facilitators and teens are required to be individual DBT therapy.
