Womens Eating Disorders Group
This is an amazingly supportive group of professional women who have or have had eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia, compulsive overeating, laxative abuse, exercise bulimia, body dysmorphia). It is a semi-structured group that allows each woman time to discuss personal issues, but also allows all members to participate if they choose. Eating disorders typically involve secrecy and shame. In a group you realize that you are not alone, and that many other wonderful competent people are struggling with the same thing. Shame and the eating disorder then disappear. Isolation is the common problem which the group disspells.

Men and Womens Therapy Group
Relationships as well as work and family (which involves relationships) are discussed in this group of professional men and women. Many things which feel overwhelming when we are alone with them become more manageable when you receive the support of others whom you trust and respect. In addition to exploring individual members' issues we also examine the interactions between members in the group setting. This is extremely helpful in identifying behaviors which may interfer with positive functioning. There is a power in group therapy to expedite healing. It promotes self understanding and change.

Hair pulling, skin picking and other body focused disorders can wreak havoc in a person's life. The shame associated can be debilitating. This group uses educational, CBT and emotive insight oriented approaches to help members overcome these behaviors in a supportive empathic atmosphere. Knowing that you are not alone has enormous power to effect change.
