Dr. Juanita Patricia Guerra

Psychologist , PhD

(914) 712-8137
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience in treating adults, children, and families that struggle with relating to others or with a feeling that life is not as gratifying as they want it to be. Clinically, I provide support and compassion while challenging individuals to confront their areas of struggle. I believe each individual is distinct and my therapeutic approach is tailored to meet each person's specific needs. I work intuitively and provide a safe space where individuals feel supported, understood, and have the opportunity to empower themselves at all levels.
I have a special interest in working with individual's that are struggling with existential life issues. I have expertise in working with individuals that have experienced trauma, such as loss and sexual abuse. Individuals often need to work through conflicts that are rooted in childhood and continue to impact their overall functioning.
I have specialized training in treating trauma victims and in using hypnosis to facilitate the therapeutic process. Hypnosis can be used to facilitate the therapeutic process in areas that are difficult to manage with traditional techniques. Alternative treatments are integrated into the therapeutic process as necessary.
