Dr. Julie Bindeman

Psychologist , PsyD

(301) 246-0980
My specialty is centered around those who are undergoing life transitions, such as going from adolescence to adulthood; transitioning from college; building a family; or other adjustment issues with which people may struggle. As I work with individual clients, I continually seek out feedback as to how treatment is progressing for them. Therapy should be an effective collaborative effort. Additionally, I incorporate mind and body integration techniques, such as yoga and relaxation, which can relieve stress, anxiety and be helpful for numerous other issues.
Transitions are a natural and normal part of life that everyone experiences. They can be expected such as going to college and learning what it's like to live on your own to coupling and starting a family. Other times they can be unexpected such as receiving a medical diagnosis.
I believe there is a strong connection between our minds and bodies. We don't pay much attention to what our bodies say. Using conventional therapy techniques and yoga, I help to integrate these aspects of a person to develop a greater awareness of self: mind and body as one
