Dr. Karrie Lager

Psychologist , PsyD

(424) 294-8875
I work collaboratively with individuals and families to help them discover new and creative ways to reach their aspirations and live the life they envision. I support clients as they tell their story and explore ways to build upon their strengths, enhance their coping skills, and improve the quality of their relationships. When working with families, I assist parents on ways to balance a nurturing and secure parent-child relationship with gentle guidance and structure that enhances their children's social and emotional competency, communication skills, academic potential, creativity, and problem solving skills. I offer convenient weekday and weekend appointments.
My specialities include the evidence based treatment, Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Through a hearing device and two-way mirror, I coach parents on PCIT techniques designed to nurture the parent-child attachment, increase children's compliance, reduce parenting stress, and enhance children's prosocial behaviors at home and school.
I also specialize in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidenced based treatment. TF-CBT strengthens emotional regulation skills, stress management, cognitive and affective processing, and enhances a sense of safety and trust. Please call me to discuss whether my experience and expertise might be a good match for you.
