I have worked in crisis and outpatient therapy, and specialize in a wide range of presenting problems including, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, divorce, parenting, and behavior problems with children and adolescents. I provide a safe environment and partner with my clients to determine goals to meet the specific needs of the individual or family. I recognize that the client is the true expert in his or her own life and empower the individual with a strength based approach to therapy. Throughout therapy the client will develop skills to help to navigate through challenging periods in life.
I work with all components of the family. I genuinely care about the clients with whom I work and invest in treating the whole person, or family, not just the "symptom" or "identified client." I believe that when my patients are willing to work hard, they will make changes!

Teens face a unique set of circumstances. Their minds and bodies are changing at a rapid rate. The transition from childhood to adulthood comes with confusion about how to adapt from the child like mind to that of a responsible adult. This group will help to better equip teens with tools and skills to improve this stage of development and to help them to better navigate difficulties inherent with this stage.

For many people, their parents' divorce marks a turning point in their lives, whether the divorce happened many years ago or is taking place right now. The expectations for the children often change during a divorce and the tone and communication around daily activities and roles in the family are often not addressed. This group is designed to assist teens with the transition of the family during and after a divorce.

Adoption is a lifelong, intergenerational process that unites the triad of birth families, adoptees, and adoptive families forever. Adoption, especially of adolescents, can lead to both great joy and tremendous pain. Recognizing the core issues in adoption is one intervention that can assist triad members better to understand each other and the residual effects of the adoption experience. SILVERSTEIN AND KAPLAN 1982). This group is designed to assist adoptees with issues specific to this special family dynamic.
