“After over 40 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in settings as diverse as prison and preschool, I have come to the conclusion that the root of most psychological suffering is a discrepancy between who we really are and who we have been expected to become or expect ourselves and others to be. This discrepancy between the "Self" and the personality we develop causes immense suffering within individuals, between individuals and in the culture as a whole. My goal is to help clients find their own truth or "Self" and live their lives from that place.

In Psychosynthesis, we work from the assumption that everyone has a "Self" but that painful and rewarding experiences have shaped us to rely on external rather than internal measures of happiness and contentment. The success of Psychosynthesis relies on my ability to form an empathic, respectful and honest relationship with you.

I also have found approaches such as behavior modification, cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy and solution focused therapy to be very useful. When working with couples, my wife, a therapist, and I work as a team which brings our own experience of 50 years as a couple to the therapeutic process.”
