“I work with people experiencing distress and relationship difficulties using approaches that scientific research has found to be effective. With INDIVIDUALS experiencing anxiety, depression, addictions, or just feeling stuck, I take a solution oriented approach that is personal and flexible. I help people understand their situation, clarify what they really want, access their own and other resources, and take steps to achieve their valued life goals. Much of my practice focuses on helping COUPLES address the future of their relationship, reduce hurtful conflict, increase emotional and sexual intimacy, and cope effectively with life's stresses.

With COUPLES, I first try to understand each partner's concerns and hopes. To strengthen the relationship, I tend to follow an emotionally focused approach, helping partners' alter patterns and balance acceptance with change. I also assist couples who are preparing for marriage, experiencing infidelity, or adjusting to separation and divorce.

FAMILIES consult me when there are difficulties with children's or other family members' behavior. I help families with members recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or clinical depression. I am also consulted by those who want to integrate their Christian faith with their therapy.”
