“Therapy is ultimately about finding a way to be happier. My approach to therapy is interactive and relationship-focused. People often come to therapy because there is something standing in the way of having the kind of life that they envision for themselves. I can assist in figuring out what self-defeating patterns, mood issues or events from the past (to name a few) are obstacles and help clients change the way they interact with others and feel about themselves. I have been described as laid-back but engaged and have a good sense of humor.

I work well with people who are curious about relationship dynamics and are eager to better understand and improve the relationships in their lives. I also have a specialty in working with people struggling with addictions, including sex, drugs/alcohol, workaholism, and overeating.

I have a specialization in working with LGBT people (both young people and adults) and their families. People who have been marginalized because of sexual orientation or gender identity often have unique concerns. I have published and spoken widely in the area of LGBT mental health.”
