Laura Winters

Clinical Social Work/Therapist , LCSW

(862) 203-8958
I realize how difficult it can be taking the first step towards getting help. My approach to therapy is client-centered. Together, we will work on determining what the best steps are in making the changes you want in your life. I believe in focusing on each individual's strengths, while assisting them in making the necessary changes to live a full, healthy life.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. Children and adolescents need a different approach to therapy than adults. With children, I utilize games and art activities to help address various problems. For adolescents, I am mindful of their need for acceptance and independence, and I support them in making good choices.
I employ a holistic approach to therapy, encouraging clients to explore all avenues to improve their well-being. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I am certified in Emotional Freedom Technique, in which the client applies light pressure on acupressure points in order to alleviate distress. In my experience, this technique is particularly helpful for anxiety.
