Laura Hoskins

I have particular experience and expertise in working with foster and adoptive children and families, particularly around attachment disorders. I have two adopted children and also have personal experience with infertility and the adoption process. I especially enjoy working with young children and suppoprting the parenting which is necessarily connected with that. My practice has shown me that I have a particular skill with adolescent and pre-teen girls, also.

I have taken many one-day trainings with Dan Hughes, as well as two one-week clinical trainings offered during the summertime, to increase my understanding of working with attachment disordered children and their families. I also have taken several workshops with Bruce Perry whose theory on a neurodevelopmental approach to treatment I find profoundly exciting.

I have a solo private practice out of my home office which can afford clients a greater degree of comfort in attending therapy and help to remove the stigma some clients may feel in a more office-type setting.
