Mrs. Linnea C Lauer

I work exclusively with children, adolescents, and their families. I am a strength-based counselor. That is, my clients and I identify their strengths and assets and use those to address the issues with which they are struggling. I use a variety of methods and techniques (for example, cognitive behavioral therapy, client centered therapy,dyadic and attachment therapy)to help my clients achieve their goals.

I particularly enjoy working with children and teens with mood and behavioral disorders as well as trauma and grief issues. I recently received certification in Adoption and Foster Care Therapy. In addition, I will be completing certification in Attachment Therapy from Nurturing Attachments in June, 2010.

I've been in private practise at this location for 15 years. I have experience as a teacher, school counselor, principal, and clinical specialist in a residential facility for adolescents. By my count, I've worked with more than 1500 children over the years.
