“Hi. To introduce myself and my work, it is important to me to express the principles and values that guide me. My work is rooted in the belief our body, mind, and spirit, as well as our relations with self, others, and all life -- are deeply connected. I honor our wholeness rather than the notion that we are broken and need to be "fixed". I believe the sense of purpose that gives meaning to one's life has the potential to be awakened and nurtured as we support the integration of these parts.
My training is in Somatic Psychology, which actively and respectfully engages the body in the healing process. I incorporate mindfulness (awareness of present experience with acceptance), body therapy methods, and cognitive skills as powerful and integrative tools to work with self-limiting beliefs and the often debilitating effects of trauma.
My clients have various symptoms: childhood abuse and attachment issues, anxiety and loneliness, longing for a deeper connection to life... My intention is to work with you to develop trust, confidence and courage so that we can deeply explore the issues that brought you to me.”

The natural resource of our bodies and our inner wisdom are often diminished by our culture's hyper focus on 'fixing' versus 'experiencing what is happening', by our past traumas, and by the lack of knowledge and support for safe and effective ways to enter one's internal world. The result is that we are no longer present. With a focus on mindfulness, education, experiential learning, and the development of skills and resources, this class provides a well-mapped approach that invites a deep listening and profound experience of body/heart/mind.
