Ms. Marielena Motta

Drug & Alcohol Counselor , MS , LCADC , LPC

(732) 455-9117
I have been treating individuals who are struggling with substance abuse and dependence for over 10 years. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy we examine the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I encourage my clients to explore their beliefs and world view, identify maladaptive coping skills and build a healthy lifestyle. Together we explore how my clients adopted their current lifestyles, what needs they were attempting to fulfill, and how and what they would like to change. I offer a safe environment for my clients to build and explore healthy relationships via the group process.
During the past 2 years, I have added forensic mental health treatment to my practice. Through the same efforts and treatment modalities, we explore specific dynamics and risk factors to offending and relapse. Through collaboration and support, we build comprehensive safety plans and relapse prevention strategies.
Collaboration, support, and healthy relationship building are key components of my program. I work with my clients to identify and process emotions in the here and now. I offer, group, individual, couples, and family counseling. Recovery is a group effort; it cannot be accomplished without help from others.
