Ms. Marion Gittings

Clinical Social Work/Therapist , MSW , LCSW

(910) 401-3206
My education in social work emphasized the importance of relationship and my work experience has reinforced this. I believe in the power of relationship between a therapist and a client to help people change, grow and discover more about themselves so that they can achieve happiness and health. Therapy can be like giving birth: it can be painful, messy, beautiful and, in the end, you have an amazing result. People have the ability to make changes or to re-decide anything about their life. Therapy is personal work that requires some thought when you enter into relationship with a therapist.
Attending therapy is work. I am willing to be present as you work. I trained in all 3 levels of the Gottman model of marriage therapy. I am a 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work educator. I am passionate about working with couples and individuals.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have advanced training in Transactional Analysis, Redecision Therapy, Group and Family Therapy. I participate in monthly supervision and ongoing couples therapy training to ensure I provide the best in evidenced based treatment.

Shelley embodies the values of positive regard and respect in her approach with regard to clients and colleagues. She is a skilled therapist with a wealth of knowledge and compassion for those she collaborates with and works with in our community. In turn she is well respected and has assisted many children, individuals and families in their desire to acheive their goals and reach their potential.
Marrion is a therapist who "gets" you. She offered a blend of top of the line interactive therapy mixed with energy psychology. Her sense of humor, compassion, and connection to trauma survivors creates a resonate and safe healing environment.
