“I view therapy as a collaborative effort which not only resolves the client's specific concerns, but enriches his/her overall quality of life beyond mere problem solving. Successful therapy requires an abiding respect for the client, profound emotional/psychological attunement and the mastery of a wide range of therapeutic skills. Recognizing that our past is always part of our present in a fluid sense, therapy helps us understand how our earliest relatiobnships and events have shaped our present selves and how to use that knowledge to avoid repeating unhealthy patterns which undermine our ability to live a more satisfying life.

I work with many different kinds of issues, such as depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, trauma and family of origin. I also have special expertise working with couples and families--straight,gay and lesbian. I also work with artists and other creative people and have experience working with Native Americans.

My career as a psychotherapist spans 37 years in private practice and clinics in Indiana, Arizona and New Mexico. I am a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and also an Approved Supervisor. I am also a member of the American Academy of Psychotherapists.”
