Melissa Magee-Kakouras

Clinical Social Work/Therapist , MSW , LCSW

(704) 601-7618
If you feel that meds aren't the solution--or are just one piece of it--I can help you or your child to uncover natural supports and develop strategies that foster well-being. My approach is creative, pragmatic and client-centered. With children and teens, I often draw on art and play therapy techniques to address core issues. With all of my clients, I focus on strengths, offering a fresh perspective when needed. I strive to listen closely and empathically, and to empower individuals and families in the change process.
Throughout my years in practice, I've worked with both child/adolescent and adult clients. Common issues of concern have been: depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship troubles, and family changes. I've also worked a great deal with individuals and families dealing with recent/past abuse and trauma.
Taking the first step towards therapy can seem intimidating. If you'd like to ask questions or get more information, please feel free to call or e-mail me. I'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
