I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over seven years experience in mental health and substance use disorders. The initial session will consist of a detailed interview and assessment. My approach to therapy is to meet you, the client, where you are at the time. Together we will collaborate to devise a treatment plan based on your primary presenting problem and any secondary problems. All treatment plans are individualized to fit your particular goals for a more fulfilling life. Assessment is ongoing and goals of treatment may change.
My specialty is substance abuse with or without co-occurring mental disorders. I am Executive Director for Positive Changes, LLC, a state certified program for substance use disorders.
Although I use an eclectic approach to counseling, treatment approaches primarily include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Choice Theory, and Existentialism.
