Dr. Michael Katz

Psychologist , PhD

(248) 552-8080
I have developed a special therapy program for children with post traumatic stress disorder caused by physical and emotional abuse and/or loss of or separation from birth parents and for adults who have experienced severe bodiy injuries, including brain injuries, due to motor vehicle accidents. My program is unique in how it combines traditional talking therapy with a multisensory visual, auditory, tactile approach that stimulates and relaxes the senses to markedly reduce anxiety, depression, and pain and significantly increase feelings of control, self-esteem, optimism. and happiness.
With children I work on reducing emotional problems of attachment, control, identity, anger, and immaturity that produce behavior problems that do not respond to rewards/consequences. For accident victims I work on reducing anxiety, depression, and pain caused by their injuries and difficulties doing activities they used to easily do.
I have been the guest trainer for hundreds of conferences throughout America about PTSD, have been presented with many awards for my therapy program, and for 10 years was the mental health expert for radio legend and community leader Martha Jean "the Queen" Steinberg's radio station in Detroit.
