As a psychotherapist with expertise working with and understanding children and adolescents as well as adults, I understand that psychotherapy can be useful for people of all ages. My approach to therapy involves giving people the room to express themselves at the most authentic level possible. By respecting that every person is entirely unique, I approach therapy with an attitude of curiosity that I seek to evoke in those I see. It is an interest in - as opposed to a fear of - ourselves that leads to greater aliveness and ownershep over one's thoughts, feelings, actions and reactions.
With adults: I offer individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. By providing an emotionally safe environment that allows for self expression and exploration, I facilitate gaining a deeper understanding of oneself - one's fears, worries, aspirations, hopes - in order to achieve a greater sense of vitality and purpose.
With children and adolescents: I utilize play and talk therapy to help them learn about themselves and to identify warning signs of their problematic concerns. My work with parents is collaborative as we work together to better understand their child. I use this understanding to develop suggestions and offer guidance.

Dr. Michael Krass also hosts the following groups:
500 N. Washington Street, Suite 101, Falls Church, Virginia
Every Tuesday at 5:30pm - 6:30pm
$100 - $110 per session
This group is for parents who have children or teens with Asperger's Disorder. Kids with Asperger's present an array of challenges to their parents including how to help them to feel less isolated when they are not motivated to make friends, how to help them to control their impulsive behavior when they are feeling overstimulated or anxious and how to negotiate the educational system. This group is a forum for the open discussion of issues and feelings relating to the often difficult yet often rewarding task of raising a child/teen with Asperger's.
