Something in life isn't working, and isn't working in a persistent way. It may be a problem in relationship, it may be a habit you can't shake, or an anxiety that won't leave you alone. You have already tried many solutions; now you seek help. The problem you have is always something else too: an opportunity to see what you want from life, maybe to notice where your talents have gone under-used or under-appreciated. Together, we look at practical solutions, but we also find the promise in your situation, the chance to start fresh.

My work is informed by family/systems thinking, as well as by my psychodynamic training at City University of New York. I am not interested in pushing some particular viewpoint: I want to find what makes sense for you.

I have worked for eleven years in Great Barrington, MA, seeing clients of all ages. Before that, I served as Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia University's medical school. I wrote The Stairway of Surprise: Six Steps to a Creative Life (2002) and Group Meditation (2011) both from SteinerBooks.

Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult
