Over the course of a lifetime people develop coping skills to deal with all kinds of challenges. Sometimes, however, we either encounter a situation for which we've had no preparation, or we find our usually-adequate coping skills overwhelmed by the enormity of a particular problem. It is an intelligent choice to seek therapy when one has become discouraged by a (perceived) decreased capacity for coping. "Asking for help does not mean that we are weak or incompetent. In addition to providing general counseling for adults and couples (anxiety, depression, relationship issues), I specialize in bereavement and women's mental health. The latter includes infertility, pregnancy and high-risk pregnancy, perinatal loss, postpartum depression, previous traumatic delivery, mothering issues, menopause, sexual well-being, and gynecological oncology.

We will work together to identify and achieve your goals, in part, by building on the strengths you already possess. Treatment is both supportive and insight-oriented. Since insight without action leads to feeling discouraged and frustrated, expect to receive plenty of encouragement to keep moving forward.
