My professional area of interest is in strengthening families. In my thirty years of practice, I have specialized in treating children coping with behavioral and emotional concerns, and adjustment issues relating to divorce, loss, and illnesses. In order to help children, one must first support the caregivers. Thus, parents and caregivers play a central role in treatment. My work with families has led me to additional training and experience in helping adults. Thus, in the past fifteen years, I have also provided treatment for adults facing the challenges of depression, anxiety, and loss. I am certified in Play Therapy.

I typically use a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment. This means that we work together to identify specific goals for change. Next, we examine specific patterns of thinking and behavior that may be counter-productive. We also work to strengthen positive coping skills

I am flexible in my treatment approach, and will adjust to meet your needs.
