People experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship conflicts, family discord and sexual dysfunction are the types of difficulties with which I am most familiar. Couples having trouble understanding and dealing with each other is an area of interest and expertise. For the last 15 or so years, I have worked a great deal with men and "men's issues" assisting men to more effectively deal with their changing roles in our present day culture. Anger management strategies, gay/lesbian issues, occupational problems, shyness, and dealing with end of life concens are psychological matters with which I am familiar.

Therapeutic interventions can include my offering alternative ways of viewing problematic circumstances, role playing, recommended readings, "open seat work" (Gestalt Therapy), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), couples counseling plus work with dreams. I utilize problem focused, solution oriented strategies, am comfortable working on a "short term" basis encouraging return sessions as needed.

Because the relationship or "fit" between a client and the therapist is so crucial for a positive therapeutic outcome, I offer to prospective, first time clients a 20 minute free introductory session and if by chance there is not a "good fit", I will facilitate an appropriate referral.
