“I have been practicing in Maine for over 35 years, specializing in individual and couples therapy. I am an active therapist, and readily share my thoughts and reactions. I like to work on a weekly basis only until we agree to meet less often; sometimes thats quite soon. I focus, when working with couples, on communication, and the distorted perceptions of each other that develop over time in relationships. I believe men are capable of better communication in relationships than they are given credit for, when the process feels safe to them.... I am a relaxed and informal therapist...

I focus on communication problems and distorted perceptions of each other in couples work. I utilize and teach effective communication processes, and I may give homework assignments. I often recommend movies as a valuable source of observable relationship issues and styles. I also believe humor helps the therapeutic process.

I offer over 35 years of experience as a highly sucessful therapist, coupled with what I believe to be a warm, informal style that most people find very comfortable, non-threatening, and easy to open up to. I have always felt a deep caring for and commitment to my patients.”
